We've begun some house-cleaning with the site and moved some things around. If you find yourself in a dead-end, please return to the VolcanoCams home page and start again. As part of the house-cleaning, we brought back the Live Images Archive, this time using images from the new VolcanoCamHD camera. We are still planning on returning the Live Images Archive with the VolcanoCam Classic.

In case you are wondering, the VolcanoCams web servers are functiong just fine. When you see a time discrepancy, that's because both web servers reverted to standard time this past Sunday, one week ahead of the rest of the country.

The National Weather Service is reporting weather conditions for the area will not be good through this weekend. Winter is definitely arriving in southwestern Washington State. Views of Mount St. Helens will probably be slim to none for several days. If you plan to visit Johnston Ridge Observatory (before it close for the winter) and/or the Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center (before it closes permanently), please call ahead. Your safety is number one.

We lost images from the two VolcanoCams for most of the afternoon yesterday. Power was lost at the Johnston Ridge Observatory. We have no specific details what caused the power failure. However, windy weather conditions across much of the Cascade Range in Southwestern Washington probably contributed to it. Winter weather is just around the corner here and with that, power failures, road closures and poor visibility will become more common. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Johnston Ridge Observatory is without power right now. Updated images from the two VolcanoCams are not possible until power is restored. More information as we receive it.

National Weather Service forcasts call for precipitation for much of the week. It goes without say, but we'll say it anyway, that views of Mount St. Helens will be far and few between this week.
