Why: This is an event organized by the U.S. Access Board as part of our commitment to provide training and technical assistance on Section 508.
Who is invited: This is open to everyone: federal employees, contractors, industry, advocacy organizations and consumers.
Cost: The training is provided free of charge. However, you are responsible for paying for your lunch and refreshments, available at the cafeteria within the building.
What will the training cover? The training will devote several hours in the morning to review many of the specific Section 508 Standards. The afternoon will address testing, e-learning, agency implementation, the 504-508 connection, and other issues. There will be several Q&A periods to encourage discussion. The trainers will represent multiple federal agencies and departments. Audio visual presentations will be used and will be available in electronic form upon request afterwards. We are not planning to provide handouts.
Accommodations: Sign language interpretation and CART services will be provided. Requests for other accommodations should be made to the Census Bureau Disability Program Office as soon as possible.
