Location
From Flagstaff, take US 89 north for 12 miles (19km), turn right at sign for Sunset Crater Volcano & Wupatki National Monuments. The visitor center is 21 miles (34km) from this junction.
Closures
Closed December 25th.
Note: Arizona remains on Mountain Standard Time year round.
Interpretive Programs
Ranger talks and guided hikes are scheduled daily during the summer, and occasionally in other seasons. See a schedule.
Exhibits
New interactive museum exhibits were installed in 2005. There's something new for everyone.

The Wupatki Pueblo Trail, a half-mile, self-guided tour of the largest pueblo in the Flagstaff area, starts at the visitor center.

Did You Know?
Arizona has more fairy shrimp than any other state except California. Three species of fairy shrimp, a single tadpole shrimp species, and a single clam shrimp species are found in the ephemeral pools and prehistoric impoundments at Wupatki National Monument.
