My Amazing Body Curriculum
September 22 – September 24, 2008
Santa Fe, New Mexico

My Amazing Body is a three day training. My Amazing Body is a comprehensive curriculum and meets the Head Start Performance Standards. The curriculum was specifically designed for American Indian and Alaskan Native Head Start children with the intent to include exercise and nutrition. My Amazing Body is divided into 10 lesson plans which incorporate a weekly nutritional experience, exercise, teacher and parent resources. The lesson plans are divided into "Learning Circle" and "Hands-On Learning Activities". To assist the teacher, each activity is divided into domains with measurable objectives, materials needed and step by step instructions. Participants of the "My Amazing Body" workshop will learn how to use this versatile My Amazing Body curriculum.

The My Amazing Body curriculum was developed by Letitia Reid, RD, MEd, who received her Bachelor of Science in Food Service from the University of California, Davis and her Masters of Education from Phillips University in Oklahoma. Letitia (Tish) received her Culinary Education Certification from the American Culinary Federation. She works with New Mexico's Long Term Care facilities and also works with New Mexico's Head Starts. Tish is one of our most popular and enjoyable instructors.
