Telecommunications Service Quality Rulemaking

The Oregon Public Utility Commission will meet tomorrow, Friday, January 14th, to open a rulemaking to revise the telecommunications service quality standards as required by SB 622, passed by the 1999 Legislature.
The PUC staff will propose changes in the current service quality standards as part of proposed rules submitted for comment in the rulemaking.
SB 622 required the Commission to establish minimum service quality rules that apply to all telecommunications carriers. Existing rules apply only to the regulated telecommunications utilities.
