One of the goals of California State Parks is to make sure that everyone - including visitors with disabilities - has access to the natural and cultural wonders that make up California State Parks. State Parks is continuing to work to make our parks more accessible.

Many changes are underway to enhance accessibility in California State Parks. This website of accessible features is part of those enhancements. It will be under construction for a while.  We welcome constructive comments and suggestions on how this site can be more helpful.

Accessibility-related construction will also be underway for a number of years in our parks. Currently, many of our parks have facilities such as restrooms, campsites, and visitor centers that are designated accessible. These facilities were accessible when they were built but may not meet all current guidelines. Our accessible features web pages include descriptions of the accessible facilities that explain major deviations from the newest proposed federal outdoor guidelines. Each page has a link to definitions and terms for further clarification. We recommend that you call the parks for more information. We look forward to meeting our mission of providing quality park experiences for all.

All of our visitors need to know that our parks can be quite different from commercial or even city or county recreational facilities. State Parks are often created around special, sometimes remote, natural or cultural resources that allow us to escape our everyday lives and refresh our spirits.  Rustic campgrounds, winding trails occasionally invaded by tree roots, isolated beaches with limited amenities, and wind-whipped ghost towns challenge our spirit of adventure. We welcome all who seek the diverse adventures our parks offer. Please be realistic about your needs, and plan ahead to help ensure an enjoyable visit.
