Assistive Technology (ATech)
ATech is a collaborative effort between Disability Support Services (DSS) and Information Technology Services (ITS) to provide technology solutions to UI students.
ATech is currently funded through a portion of the UI Student Technology fee; this fee exists to provide UI students with on-campus access to computers, software, printers, and networking infrastructure. As a direct result of the Student Technology fee, ATech exists to provide specialized software, hardware and peripherals to UI students in order to accommodate their needs.
Computers and electronic information devices are now common as workplace and educational tools. ATech's mission is to provide proven computer, software, and electronic peripherals that will enable the education of students with disabilities.
