In order to have a fair and verified election, there must be a paper trail of recorded votes. It is very easy to hack into a computer and alter the results, or the computer can malfunction and distort or eliminate some votes. If there are paper records of the votes then a disputed election can be reviewed. Therefore it is imperative to have a paper trail as part of a new system of voting.
