The purchase of the photographic collections of commercial dealers often extends the scope of the Department of Image Collections to include lesser-known artists and works of art.

Christie's
A selection of the most important items sold at Christie's, London, from 1910 to 1980; every catalogue illustration from auctions at Christie's London from 1980 to 1986 and the New York branch from 1977 to 1985 (1,200 microforms)
