Description
NECTAC’s mission is to strengthen service systems to ensure that children with disabilities and other special needs and their families receive and benefit from high quality, culturally appropriate and family centered supports and services. The TA center supports the state to develop and implement a strategic work plan to bring about long-term sustained change and improvement in a challenging service system area. In the process, NECTAC partners with other TA providers, resources and systems, to provide services such as consultation, workshops, topical telecalls, and web-based communications. For this contract work that is supported by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), FPG Child Development Institute at UNC-CH serves as the prime contractor and collaborates with two subcontractors, the National Association of State Directors of Special Education and the Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER) Center.
