Description

Established in 1898, Joslin Diabetes Center is an internationally recognized institution that treats adults and children with diabetes, conducts diabetes research, educates patients and teaches professional personnel, and maintains summer camps for diabetic children.

The Center publishes a variety of materials, including books and videos containing comprehensive information about diabetes for laypeople with the disease and professionals. Topics covered include diet and exercise, medications, monitoring, special issues such as diabetes and pregnancy, traveling with diabetes, weight loss, psychosocial and sexual issues and more. Serial publication: Joslin Magazine, quarterly--news articles about programs and activities and medical, dietary and research updates. In addition to its Center in Boston and satellite facilities in the Boston area, Joslin has a dozen affiliated diabetes treatment centers in locations around the U.S.
