Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) mission is to end the devastating effects of MS. Through its home office and 50-state network of chapters (135 chapters, branches & divisions), the NMSS funds more MS research (over $17 million in 1997 alone) and provides more services (over one million individuals annually) than any other MS voluntary health organization in the world. The NMSS is also part of a 34-member international alliance of MS Societies. The NMSS offers extensive educational materials, supports over 2000 self help-groups, funds more than 200 research projects around the world, advances public policy development and helps those with MS and their families access clinical centers and community services. The NMSS furnishes a 24-hour toll free information line and a continuously updated home page.
