Description

NPIC provides objective, science-based information about a wide variety of pesticide-related topics, including: pesticide product information, information on the recognition and management of pesticide poisonings, toxicology and environmental chemistry. Highly trained specialists can also provide referrals for the following: laboratory analyses, investigation of pesticide incidents, emergency treatment information, safety information, health and environmental effects, and clean-up and disposal procedures. NPIC is a toll-free telephone service available to anyone in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands including the general public, the hearing impaired, and medical, veterinary, and other health care professionals. Service is available in over 100 languages. Pesticide information is also available from the NPIC website at http://npic.orst.edu. NPIC is a cooperative effort between Oregon State University and the U.S. EPA.
