General Authorization for Minimal Disturbance Activities Within Essential Salmonid Habitat
 
To be eligible for this General Authorization, the project must be for the purpose of placing or removing very small quantities (no more than two cubic yards) of material within designated essential salmonid habitat areas.
In addition, the project:
  • Shall have only minimal, temporary short-term adverse effects
AND
  • No mid-term or long-term adverse effects
Examples of eligible projects include investigative drilling, installation of scientific measurement devices and limited surveys for historic resources.
The project must meet the following criteria:
  • Place or remove not more than two cubic yards of material at any individual site and, cumulatively, not more than 10 cubic yards of material within an ESH stream in a single project year
  • Have no effect on any listed species or archeological sites

To apply, complete a General Authorization form for Minimal Disturbance Activities Within Essential Salmonid Habitat.
 
 
NOTE: DSL staff members will review the form. If they have no questions, they will return it stamped "Approved." Remember to keep a copy at the site of the approved activity.
