In 2005, 30.5 percent of the Nation’s full-time law enforcement employees were civilians.
Within the Nations’ cities, 23.2 percent of full-time law enforcement employees were civilians.
The highest average percentages of full-time civilian law enforcement employees were in metropolitan counties (41.2 percent) and nonmetropolitan counties (39.6 percent).
