In 2005, 77 percent of persons arrested in nonmetropolitan counties were male.
Males comprised 83.6 percent of persons arrested for violent crime and 76.9 percent of all persons arrested for property crime in nonmetropolitan counties.
In nonmetroplitan counties, females were most frequently arrested for driving under the influence, drug abuse violations, and fraud.
In nonmetropolitan counties, males were most often arrested for driving under the influence, drug abuse violations, and other (simple) assaults.
