  • In 2005, 77 percent of persons arrested in nonmetropolitan counties were male.
  • Males comprised 83.6 percent of persons arrested for violent crime and 76.9 percent of all persons arrested for property crime in nonmetropolitan counties.
  • In nonmetroplitan counties, females were most frequently arrested for driving under the influence, drug abuse violations, and fraud.
  • In nonmetropolitan counties, males were most often arrested for driving under the influence, drug abuse violations, and other (simple) assaults.
