  • The number of juveniles arrested in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 3.2 percent in 2005 when compared with 2004 data. The number of adults arrested increased 1.2 percent.
  • The number of juveniles arrested for violent crimes increased 3.0 percent in nonmetropolitan counties in 2005. The number of adults arrested for violent crimes remained virtually unchanged from the 2004 figure.
  • The number of juveniles arrested for property crimes decreased 6.6 percent in nonmetropolitan counties. However, the number of adults arrested for property crimes increased 4.0 percent when comparing 2005 data with 2004 numbers.
  • When compared with data for 2004, the number of juveniles arrested for drug abuse violations in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 4.8 percent in 2005.
  • The number of adults arrested for driving under the influence in nonmetropolitan counties decreased 6.1 percent from 2004 to 2005.
