  • In 2005, whites accounted for 75.2 percent of all persons arrested in metropolitan counties.
  • Whites were arrested at a higher percentage than blacks for all offenses except robbery in metropolitan counties in 2005. Blacks accounted for 52.4 percent of all persons arrested for robbery offenses.
  • Black juveniles were arrested more often than white juveniles for robbery and gambling offenses, comprising 68.1 percent and 62.9 percent of juveniles arrested for those offenses, respectively.
  • White adults were arrested more often than black adults in metropolitan counties, accounting for 75.9 percent of all arrestees.
