  • In 2005, 77.0 percent of all persons arrested in metropolitan counties were male.
  • Males comprised 83.0 percent of all persons arrested in metropolitan counties for violent crimes and 71.8 percent of all persons arrested for property crimes.
  • In metropolitan counties, males were most often arrested for driving under the influence. In 2005, 81.8 percent of those arrested for these offenses were male.
  • The percent distribution of the number of males and females arrested for fraud was almost equal at 51.7 percent and 48.3 percent, respectively. This was also true for embezzlement with males accounting for 51.4 percent of arrestees and females for 48.6 percent of arrestees in 2005.
