  • In 2005, 88.2 percent of individuals arrested in metropolitan counties were adults (age 18 and over).
  • Juveniles (persons under 18 years of age) comprised 13.4 percent of violent crime arrestees in metropolitan counties, and 22.9 percent of property crime arrestees.
  • Juveniles accounted for 22.2 percent of individuals arrested for larceny-theft offenses in metropolitan counties in 2005.
  • Juveniles under the age of 15 in metropolitan counties were most often arrested for other (simple) assaults and accounted for 7.6 percent of arrestees in metropolitan counties for that offense.
  • Arrests for driving under the influence accounted for 13 percent of all arrests in metropolitan counties in 2005. Adults were arrested for driving under the influence more than for any other offense.
