  • In 2005, the number of males arrested in metropolitan counties increased 1.5 percent compared to the number of those arrested in 2004. The number of juvenile males arrested decreased 3.3 percent.
  • The number of females arrested in metropolitan counties increased 2.7 percent compared to the number of those arrested in 2004. The number of juvenile females arrested decreased 3.7 percent.
  • In 2005, the number of males arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter increased 9.0 percent in metropolitan counties, and the number of females arrested for that offense increased 7.5 percent.
  • The number of juvenile females arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter in metropolitan counties also increased, up 57.1 percent compared with 2004 data. The number of juvenile females arrested for robbery increased 42.0 percent.
  • The number of males arrested for arson offenses in metropolitan counties increased 8.5 percent, with the number of juvenile males arrested for that offense increasing 15.6 percent. However, the number of females arrested for arson in metropolitan counties decreased 5.1 percent, with the number of juvenile females arrested decreasing 16.8 percent in 2005 compared with 2004 statistics.
