  • In 2005, the number of juvenile males arrested in the Nation's cities for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter increased 25.6 percent compared with the 2004 figure; the number of juvenile females arrested for this crime rose 48.4 percent over the same time period.
  • Of all juveniles arrested for violent crime in 2005, the number of males increased 3.5 percent and the number of females increased 1.3 percent compared with the 2004 data.
  • Of all juveniles arrested for property crime in 2005, the number of males decreased 8.0 percent and the number of females decreased 8.1 percent compared with the 2004 data.
