Days and hours of operations for the six sites of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve are

  • Acadian Cultural Center (Lafayette) is open daily 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed December 25 and Mardi Gras.
  • Prairie Acadian Cultural Center (Eunice) is open Tuesday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Closed December 25.
  • Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center (Thibodaux) is open Monday 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., and Friday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The center is closed on Sunday June through August but will reopen on Sundays starting September 7. Closed December 25 and Mardi Gras.
  • Barataria Preserve (Marrero) is open daily 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed December 25 and Mardi Gras.
  • French Quarter Visitor Center (New Orleans) is open daily 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Closed December 25 and Mardi Gras.
  • Chalmette Battlefield (Chalmette) Full services (visitor center, grounds, and public restrooms) Thursday-Sunday 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  Limited services (grounds and public restrooms only) Monday-Wednesday 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  Closed December 25 and Mardi Gras.

Did You Know?
The juvenile cottonmouth or water moccasin will warn you of its dangerous bite in many ways. It releases a musky odor, opens its mouth wide to show you his white mouth and fangs, and lastly will pretend to strike at you. But the snake doesn't really want to bite you.
