Interpretive Activities
We have several activities designed with particular age and activity groups in mind. From adult naturalist programs to Tide of the Toddlers, we have something for you and your family! Events are held rain or shine.
Registration is required for particular events. We strongly encourage registration at least 24 hours in advance, which allows our staff to prepare enough materials for participants. Check out the events calendar for upcoming interpretive programs and activities.
Birding Around Town
For patient observers over age 10, a morning of birding with an experienced guide. $1/birder. Registration required.
Estuary Arts & Crafts
Programs have multiple age ranges, check activity listings. Take home an artistic reminder of South Slough. $3/artist. Registration required.
Estuary Explorers
For children 6-14, a time for interactive learning about our natural world. $2/child. Registration required.
Film Festivals
For all, enjoy a film in our "theater" with a view. Free.
Get Active!
Paddling tours for ages 16 and up; younger passengers may be accompanied by adults. Naturalist tours of different areas of the estuary, provide your own boat. $15/boat. Registration is required, and early registration is strongly recommended, as tours fill up fast.
Hiking and Walkabouts are for individuals who like being outdoors and getting some exercise. Free.

Tide of the Toddlers
For children 1-5, where we play, sing, tell stories, using creativity to explore the estuary. $1/toddler. Registration is required.
