The American Firebirds fly their Extra 300S aircraft during a twilight performance at the Naval Air Station Pensacola Air Show Nov. 11. The Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show honored military and civilian personnel and their families. What made the weekend even more special was the fact that the entire region is still recovering from the devastating damage of Hurricane Ivan. The local newspaper, The Pensacola News Journal, praised Capt. J. M. Pruitt, commanding officer of NAS Pensacola, for not canceling the show – citing the fact that it would raise the spirits of the entire region. Defense Dept. photo by U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr.
