Mission Statement
 
"The Construction Section’s role in ODOT’s Construction program is to lead and manage continuous improvement of overall construction program quality and statewide consistency by:
  • Establishing performance expectations for statewide construction program with the concurrence of the Project Delivery Leadership Team’s Standing Committee on Construction,
  • Establishing, administering, and interpreting statewide construction policies, procedures and processes and
  • Providing construction expertise and training programs."

The Construction Section & Materials Lab is part of the Technical Services Branch of the Oregon Department of Transportation.
 
We are a diverse group made up of six different units that work in the planning, design and construction phases of project delivery.

Programs
 
Construction Section is responsible for providing project development support for the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), the Interstate Pavement Preservation Program and Pavement Management Program, etc. and includes services in pavements. The Section also provides construction activity support by providing services such as contract payments, contract services, contract claims, quality assurance, structural services, pavement management services, and materials testing.
 
The Construction Section conducts evaluation of commercial products used in construction and maintenance and publish the "Qualified Products Listing".
