EPA has updated the transportation conformity rule to make it consistent with the Clean Air Act as amended by SAFETEA-LU.

- Joint EPA-DOT Interim Guidance for Implementing SAFETEA-LU's Conformity Provisions (February 2006) While the majority of this guidance is superceded by the final rule, Section 5 (TCMs) and Section 7 (conformity SIPs) still apply. EPA will update this guidance shortly. Until then, please also note that the conformity SIP guidance of November 2004 also applies.

Other Conformity Rulemakings
Chronological List of Transportation Conformity Rulemakings
- EPA has published rule amendments in the Federal Register since transportation conformity was enacted as part of the 1990 Clean Air Act. These rulemakings include preamble text explaining rule provisions that remain in effect today.
- EPA and the U.S. Department of Transportation have issued a number of guidance documents that provide additional information on implementing the conformity regulations.
