NHANES Forum
September 11-12, 2003

Representatives from public health, research, and policy groups were invited by the Center Director, Dr. Edward Sondik to join  staff for a Forum meeting in Hyattsville, MD on September 11-12, 2003.  The purpose of the NHANES Forum was to identify priorities for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) in 2005 and beyond.  The meeting format utilized “Open Space Technology,” a participatory process that is conducive to the exchange of information on diverse topics among groups of interested individuals.  Open Space Technology is based on the concept of a community of collaboration and the development of a diverse “marketplace” of ideas.  Forum participants identified topics for discussion during the Forum. Summaries of the Forum discussions are posted below.
