SYNOPSIS

The GEOMM program supports fundemental research on the mechanics and engineering properties of geologic materials including the mechanical properties of soil and rock, mechanically stabilized and biologically modified soil, and on natural processes, such as hydraulic, biological and thermal, that affect the behavior of these materials. Research on soil-structure interaction and liquefaction are also funded by the program. Support is provided for theoretical studies, constitutive and numerical modeling, and laboratory, centrifuge, and field testing.
