Description:The National Centers of Excellence in Women's Health (CoEs) were established in 1996 by the Public Health Service's Office on Women's Health within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Their mandate is to establish and evaluate a new model health care system that unites women's health research, medical training, clinical care, public health education, community outreach, and the promotion of women in academic medicine. Their goal is to improve the health status of diverse women across the life span. Availability information:Single copies of most Federal materials are available free of charge.
