Research Project: SEQUENCE ANALYSIS FOR SMALL FRUIT BIOTIC AND ABIOTIC STRESS RESEARCH

Location: Genetic Improvement of Fruits and Vegetables

Project Number: 1275-21220-189-02
Project Type: Specific Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jul 25, 2008
End Date: Jul 24, 2009

Objective:
Sequence and annotate the genome and transcriptome of Colletotrichum acutatum isolated from infected blueberry fruit. Sequence and annotate the transcriptome of developing Strawberry reproductive structures exposed to elevated temperature or other abiotic stress.

Approach:
We will generate 20-40x sequencing coverage using SOLiD mate-pair sequencing, and assemble the sequence data using a de novo assembler developed in the cooperator's laboratory.
