With over 900,000 square miles of open water and
33,000 miles of coastline, the Special Agents and
Enforcement Officers of the Alaska Enforcement Division
(AKD) have federal jurisdiction over the largest
coastline of any state.
In Alaska, Special Agents and Enforcement Officers
both conduct patrols and investigations.
Known for well-managed fisheries with complicated
allocation schemes, the AKD continues to oversee
one of the richest yielding fisheries in the world.
Known as the "training ground for the OLE", over
27 special agents and enforcement officers now working
outside of Alaska had their start in this treacherous
and adventurous environment.
The Alaska Division (AED / AKD) is
comprised solely of Alaska.
