Former MSU president donates boyhood collection to university
Almost 80 years after he started collecting beetles, a former Montana State University president has donated his boyhood collection to MSU.
Carl McIntosh, MSU's president from 1970 to 1977, said he wanted to honor the late Richard Hurley, associate curator of the Montana Entomology Collection at MSU. The two became friends after Hurley retired from Humboldt State University in 1996 and moved into the Bozeman complex where McIntosh lived. They drank coffee together, and Hurley picked up McIntosh's groceries. Hurley was hospitalized in October 2007 and died Sept. 3. Read more...
