INFORMATION BULLETIN 04-87 Sustainable Fisheries Division 907-586-7228 September 22, 2004 4:20 p.m. NMFS OPENS DIRECTED FISHING FOR PACIFIC COD BY VESSELS CATCHING PACIFIC COD FOR PROCESSING BY THE INSHORE COMPONENT IN THE CENTRAL REGULATORY AREA OF THE GULF OF ALASKA The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the inshore component in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), September 28, 2004, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS. This action is necessary to fully use the 2004 B season total allowable catch of Pacific cod specified for vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the inshore component in the Central Regulatory Area of the GOA. Other closures remain in full force and effect. This information bulletin only provides notice of a regulatory change. For the purposes of complying with the regulatory change, you are advised to see the actual text of the regulation in the Code of Federal Regulations.
