The State of Hawaii has several agencies that offer support in resources and assistance for marketing efforts of various industries within the state.

Department of Agriculture
The Department of Agriculture (DOA) has affiliations with the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Services, the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA), and other industry related associations that provide marketing assistance for locally grown products. Some assistance for foreign marketing efforts are on a dollar-for-dollar match (an incredible savings for exporters). Some of the hottest export products from Hawaii are from the agriculture industry: cut flowers, potted/rooted florals, coffee, nursery plants, seed corn and more recently, exotic tropical fruit.

The Hawaii Department of Agriculture also supports aquaculture with the Aquaculture Development Program. The Aquaculture Development Program assists in the promotion of products, services and investment opportunities through direct marketing and media assistance; promotional exhibits; publication of recipes and brochures; and public relations; and acts as a clearinghouse to put customers in touch with producers and consultants.

Research & Economic Analysis Division
The Research & Economic Analysis Division (READ) offers valuable demographic statistics, census information, and economic conditions import for market evaluations and economic trends for the State of Hawaii.

Hawaii Tourism Authority
The Hawaii Tourism Authority publishes visitor industry statistics and reports that are useful to marketing efforts in the tourist industry of Hawaii. Visit Hawaii Tourism Authority's Reports page.

Economic Development Boards

Enterprise Honolulu
Enterprise Honolulu, formerly Oahu Economic Development Board, is a private, non-profit organization created to help existing businesses expand and become diverse, new business to grow and succeed, and to create quality jobs on the Island of Oahu.

Hawaii Economic Development Board
A networking business organization that specializes in facilitating federal resource programs and implementation of economic development projects in Hawaii County. HIEDB provides valuable information and contacts for area businesses and industries as well as key liaison to federal, state, county and private sector resources in financing, business planning, permitting, legal advice and other business services.

Maui Economic Development Board
The Maui Economic Development Board is a not-for-profit corporation that explores and develops approaches Maui could take to strengthen and diversify the economy. The consensus of the inital founders of MEDB - a meeting of elected, business, and community leaders - was that Maui's economic future would benefit by diversifying into the high technology arena and as a result, MEDB was formed to assist the County of Maui in pursuing a high tech future. MEDB currently sponsors and promotes several different initiatives to sustain the continued diversification and growth of Maui County's economy.

Kauai Economic Development Board
The Kauai Economic Development Board is a private sector, non-profit organization whose purpose is to strengthen the island's tourism-based economy by investigating and attracting new business enterprises aimed at diversifying the economy of this rural Hawaiian island. KEDB's current focus is in areas of science and technology, education, visitor product development and diversified agriculture.
