Commercial Service Nagoya (CS Nagoya) is responsible for the Chubu and Hokuriku regions of central Japan. This area is the manufacturing heartland of Japan, and covers nine prefectures: Aichi, Mie, Gifu, Nagano, Shizuoka, Yamanashi, Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui. CS Nagoya offers support to American businesses looking to establish or expand their markets in central Japan.

Nagoya, which is center to Japan's third-largest business region, serves as the economic hub of central Japan. It is conveniently located between Tokyo and Osaka, and served by Shinkansen bullet trains, major expressways, and the new Central Japan International Airport completed in 2005. The region is also home to eight major ports, including Japan's busiest single port in Nagoya, and manufacturers such as Noritake, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Toyota. Central Japan accounts for over 15% of both Japan's GDP and population, and is noted for its expanding global business ties.

Currently, CS Nagoya sees opportunities in a variety of sectors, including business aviation, tourism, automotive parts, construction and development products, building materials, and environmental technology. As a part of the U.S. Consulate in Nagoya, the Commercial Service also works with State Department colleagues to coordinate contacts with local business, government, and media. We also cooperate on advocacy and trade promotion efforts with CS Japan's industry units, Commerce Department headquarters in Washington, U.S. Export Assistance Centers, state trade offices in Japan, and major business associations.
