NMFS OPENS DIRECTED FISHING FOR POLLOCK IN THE WEST YAKUTAT DISTRICT OF THE GULF OF ALASKA The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for pollock in the West Yakutat District (Statistical Area 640, between 140 degrees and 147 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), April 1, 2000, according to Steven Pennoyer, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS. This action is necessary to fully utilize the total allowable catch of pollock in that area. Other closures remain in full force and effect. This information bulletin provides notice of a regulatory change. Do not rely upon it to guide you in complying with the new regulatory change. |
