HARC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in The Woodlands, Texas dedicated to improving human and ecosystem well-being through the application of sustainability science and principles of sustainable development.
| GTRI is working with the Houston Architecture Foundation and the City of Houston's Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department to install and test two commercially available 50 kW solar energy systems (100 kW total). For 50 kW BP America has pledged that it will donate 20 kW of mounted panels and the other 30 kW of the mounted panels for this system will be supplied by the proposer selected as a result of a Request For Qualifications and Proposals. |
| HARC is seeking a self motivated and team oriented professional with the ability to provide the analytical framework and financial metrics to enable informed, astute business decisions, which capitalize on opportunities and minimize risk. Non-profit experience, and/or governement contracting experience preferred. |
| HARC is seeking a part time clerk with general computer skills. Duties would include copying all documents from one server or software package to a Public Share folder and saving in a standardized format as well as assisting with IT inventory and log file analysis. One year of college a plus. |
In a non-partisan and collaborative manner, HARC is a conduit from basic research to action that fosters the implementation of policies and technologies based on rigorous principles of social science, natural science, and engineering. HARC’s research themes support sustainability solutions in ecosystems, water, air & climate, clean energy, the built environment, and environmental health.
We use the tools of science, policy and technology to provide new knowledge about the complex balance between environmental, social and economic issues in our region. It is in specific regions with distinct social and ecological attributes that the critical threats to sustainability emerge, and where progress will need to be based. HARC’s primary geographical focus encompasses the greater Houston area and the Texas Gulf Coast.
