TLK286
A modified glutathione analog. TLK286 is selectively activated by glutathione S-Transferase P1-1 into an alkylating metabolite which forms covalent linkages with nucleophillic centers in tumor cell DNA, thereby inducing a cellular stress response and cytotoxicity, and decreasing tumor proliferation. S-transferase P1-1 is an enzyme that is overexpressed in many human malignancies. Check for active clinical trials or closed clinical trials using this agent. (NCI Thesaurus)
