The following mission and goal statements have emerged as the direction for the Local Government Section.

High quality local projects, delivered on time and within budget, that satisfy identified transportation needs of ODOT, Local Agencies, FHWA and the public.

Mission
Our mission is to support the strategic direction of the agency, which is the successful delivery of the highway construction program. A major component of that program is the Local Program and we provide Local Program policy and program oversight and support to ODOT Regions and Local Agencies for their Local Agency project development and delivery processes. In ODOT’s quest to provide excellent customer service to Oregon communities, we offer educational opportunities, technical support and federal oversight not only to Local Agencies, but to other transportation partners as well. We strive to help Local Agencies develop the right project, in the right way, at the right time and with the right cost. We take pride in promoting cooperative planning, positive interactions and collaborative partnerships between ODOT, Local Agencies and Consultants.
