Endangered Species Program
Endangered Species Permits Contacts

Most endangered and threatened species permits are issued by the regional office for the area where the activity will take place. The exception is Interstate Commerce permits, which are issued by the office of the “lead region" for the affected species, not the region where the activity will take place.

Directions at the bottom of this page will help you determine which region is the lead region for the species of interest.

Fish and wildlife management is also handled by states, territories, and tribes. Your activity may require one or more permits from another regulatory agency as well. See the list of state and territorial fish and wildlife offices for their contact information.
