ABLE TO

Administer a Medical Unit. May have some skills for emergency and non-emergency medical.

Treat emergency and non-emergency injuries/illness. Able to do some diagnosis. Able to make determination as to whether to transport.

Treat emergency injuries and illness. Must treat AND TRANSPORT to a medical facility. Can not diagnose. Can not dispense medications (no training and illegal).

Had, at some time, EMT training (currently 110 hours) for emergency medical.

No training in non-emergency medical.

No continuing training requirements to maintain medical skills.

Has yearly IMS training (32 hours ) for entire range of incident medical needs.

EMT skills are kept current thru on-going training (approximately 36 hours a year).

Has training for emergency medical. Must participate in continuing education to meet EMT recertification requirements biannually (approximately 36 hours a year).
