AIDS reporting is by name and is required by Hawai'i Revised Statutes (HRS) 325-2 and Hawai'i Administrative Rules Chapter 11-156-3. Since August 27, 2001, Hawaii Administrative Rules Chapter 11-156-8.8 required physicians to report HIV cases (without AIDS diagnosis) using an Unnamed Test Code (UTC).
