  • Cancer Nanotechnology Platform Partnerships – NCI has awarded twelve partnerships that are designed to develop technologies for new products in six key programmatic areas: molecular imaging and early detection, in vivo imaging, reporters of efficacy, multifunctional therapeutics, prevention and control, and research enablers.   • Multidisciplinary Research Training and Team Development – NCI and the National Science Foundation (NSF) have formed a collaboration that will establish four integrative training environments for U.S. science and engineering doctoral students to focus on interdisciplinary nanoscience and technology research with applications to cancer.   • Nanotechnology Characterization Laboratory (NCL) – The Nanotechnology Characterization Laboratory (NCL) performs and standardizes the pre-clinical characterization of nanomaterials intended for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics developed by researchers from academia, government, and industry.
