Resident Agent-in-Charge
The Resident Agent-in-Charge Office in Jackson, MS, supervises 10 Special Agents, 1 Wildlife Inspector and 3 Office Assistants who are located in the Sub-District that consists of AR, LA, and MS. This Sub-District consists of 143,520 square miles with a population of approximately 9.5 million people. There are seven districts of the U.S. Attorney's Office, 26 National
Fish and Wildlife Service Refuges and 3 Fish and Wildlife Service Ecological Services offices
in this area of responsibility. Nearly 40 percent of North America's waterfowl and 60 percent
of all bird species migrate through this Sub-District and the area is also home to about 130 threatened and endangered species. In addition to investigating numerous violations of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the Lacey Act and a host of other Federal wildlife laws, the Wildlife Inspector and Special Agents are actively involved in training conservation officers and conducting outreach programs for schools, civic groups and universities.
