Note: Data represent felony defendants in the 75 largest counties in 2004.
Data on length of probation sentence were available for 97% of all cases
in which the most severe type of sentence a defendant received was probation.
Twenty-six percent of those sentenced to probation also received a fine.
Total for felonies includes cases that could not be classified into 1 of the
4 felony
offense categories. Mean and median sentences excludes those
defendants
receiving life probation. Detail may not add to total because
of rounding. |
