Homeland Security Branch

The Homeland Security Branch consists of three senior analysts tasked with coordinating and overseeing APHIS’ efforts to enhance Agency homeland security related activities and integrate into and comply with Federal homeland security initiatives. This branch carries out the following tasks:

  • Implementation of Homeland Security Presidential Directives
  • Information gathering, analysis, and dissemination (countermeasures / mitigation / preparedness / response);
  • Raise awareness about APHIS’ agriculture-related homeland security responsibilities to other homeland security entities (roles and responsibilities / expertise / intelligence systems); and
  • Investigate new technology systems, methods, and equipment evolving in the emergency response arena.
