Secretary Tommy G. Thompson
New York Disaster Health Care Coverage

(September 19, 2001)

Actuality= approx. 3.9M

This is Tommy Thompson, Secretary of Health and Human Services.

As New Yorkers continue to cope with last week's devastation, one thing they don't need is worrying about health insurance or how to get it.

President Bush and I have worked with Governor Pataki to make it easier for New Yorkers without health insurance to get the coverage they need. We've put together a plan to provide disaster health care coverage program that's hassle-free.

No red tape. No time-consuming paperwork. You fill out a one-page form and you're done. Contact your nearest state health office for more information.

Thank you.
