April 17, 2008 - The Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) is releasing its third progress report (PDF, 25 pages, 1.7 MB www.b-e-f.org )describing their use of BPA funds provided under the BPA/BEF Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in July, 2004. The report discloses BEF use of MOA funds provided to BEF during FY 2006. All of the funds directed to BEF under the MOA originate from BPA's renewable energy and renewable energy certificate revenues, not from rates. BEF investments under the MOA must be directed towards renewable projects and programs in requirements customer service territories.

February 2007 - The Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) is releasing its second progress report (PDF, 24 pages, 1.6 MB www.b-e-f.org ) describing their use of BPA funds provided under the BPA/BEF Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in July, 2004. The report discloses BEF use of MOA funds provided to BEF during FY 2005. All of the funds directed to BEF under the MOA originate from BPA's renewable energy and renewable energy certificate revenues, not from rates. BEF investments under the MOA must be directed towards renewable projects and programs in requirements customer service territories.

June 2006 - BPA presented at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) national conference in Pittsburgh in June 2006 to discuss the challenges of integrating large scale wind projects into a regional system. The Presentation (PDF, 36 pages, 1.06Mb) used at the conference and the White Paper (PDF, 16 pages, 1.04Mb) produced afterward are now available.

April 7, 2005 - BPA Wind Forecasting Network:  On March 25, 2005, BPA issued an announcement regarding the BPA Wind Forecasting Network - - a two-year wind/hydro optimization RD&D project.  Due to experience with managing 208 MW of wind in the BPA control area along with the potential to manage an additional 450 MW of new wind with BPA's Wind Storage and Shaping & Wind Integration products, BPA must now actively manage its wind energy portfolio.  For more infomation, see the March 25, 2005 announcement (PDF, 1 page, 94 kb, updated July 8, 2005).

March 19, 2004 - Fairchild Air Force Base rides the wind: Fairchild Air Force Base is purchasing enough renewable power to support 100 percent of it's load - - 99 percent from wind projects under contract to BPA and 1 percent from small hydro. March 2, 2004 - BPA Wind Integration Services: The BPA Power Business Line (PBL) Renewable Power Group today issued a new BPA Wind Integration Services brochure (PDF, 3 pages, 277 kb) that describes two new BPA services for Network Wind Integration and Storage and Shaping.
