Parks and recreation

King County Parks - Your Big Backyard - offers more than 25,000 acres of parks and natural lands, including rural gems such as Tolt-MacDonald Park, the Three Forks Natural Area and the Green River Natural Area, plus Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park and Marymoor Park in the Sammamish Valley. King County also maintains 175 miles of regional trails, including the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, the Cedar River Trail and more. These regional trails are used by runners, walkers, cyclists and equestrians. Pools and a world-class aquatic center are also just a short drive for most of King County's rural residents. By cultivating strong relationships with non-profit, corporate and community partners, King County Parks enhances park amenities while reducing costs.
